By 2008 the Village Hall had fallen into a very poor state of repair so the Parish Council made the decision to take out a Public Works Loan for £53,000 to pay for the Hall to be completely refurbished. The work was carried out and by the summer of 2009, the Village had the benefit of a much improved Hall, refurbished to a very high standard including new toilets and kitchen together with new flooring and heating. Since the refurbishment, the new Vilage Hall has become an important centre for the life of the Village.
Further improvements were made in 2013 when secondary double glazing was installed with the help of a grant from Cotswold Conservation Board and support from the Parish Council. The Management Committee are now looking to improve the heating system.
The Hall is run by a Management Committee and is available for hire. Please contact Anne Mingins Tel: 01285 658124 or download the booking form
The Hall measures 5m x 11m and can offer: Access for the disabled including toilets, a kitchen and Tables and Chairs (for approximately 40) and a total capacity 50 of people.
The Hall is much used by the local community for activities such as: Art classes, Yoga, Baby Sing and Sign, Pilgrim Church Group, Parochial Church Council meetings, Harvest Supper, Lent Lunch, Soup Saturday, Jumble Sales, Village Book Club, Pub Nights and Christmas Mulled Wine Evenings.
